Ryan is a data scientist and chemical engineer with a passion for combining data-driven and physics-based approaches to solve challenging problems. He is presently the Data Science Manager at Tignis. Prior to joining the Tignis team, Ryan developed data science tools to provide a deeper understanding of bioprocess and clinical trial data at Seagen. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with the Advanced Data Science Option from University of Washington and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. During his Ph.D. research, Ryan earned a high impact publication award for his work combining machine learning with semiconductor physics to improve the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells. Prior to his Ph.D., Ryan contributed as a Chemical Engineer at Argonne National Lab and SINTEF Energy Research, where he employed statistical and physical modeling skills to optimize complex processes.
